Jeremie Frimpong to Liverpool moves one step CLOSER after latest transfer development
Liverpool look certain to complete the signing of Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen.
The 24-year-old Dutchman won the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal double for Xabi Alonso’s side last year and is the No1 pick to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Sporting director Richard Hughes and head coach Arne Slot have moved quickly for Frimpong, with the club now ready to trigger the player’s Leverkusen release clause, with a medical reportedly scheduled and the deal receiving the 'here we go' seal from Fabrizio Romano.

Frimpong is expected to cost around €40m - which may well come to be regarded as a bargain in the years ahead.
A productive right-sided wing-back or midfielder, Frimpong will provide a very different threat to Alexander-Arnold - who is now expected to join Real Madrid.
The path has been cleared for Frimpong to move to Anfield with Liverpool now reported to have dropped out of the running for other right-back targets.
Liverpool wanted Vanderson
They had been linked with players like Wesley Franca and Lutsharel Geertruida, but it now appears that Frimpong is the only one in their sights.
Further confirmation of Slot’s Trent succession plan comes with the news that Tottenham are now favourites to land one-time Liverpool target Vanderson.
The 23-year-old Brazilian is a mainstay for Monaco, attracting interest from several Premier League clubs as well as Barcelona.
And the latest report in GIVEMESPORT claims that Spurs will move for the ÂŁ30m Brazil international - whether Ange Postecoglou remains as head coach or not.
“Tottenham are keeping tabs on Vanderson's situation and, in a significant boost, it is increasingly likely that he will be given the opportunity to embark on a fresh challenge if a bid in the region of £30million is lodged during the fast-approaching summer transfer window,” a report reads.
“They are keen to secure his services even though there remains uncertainty over whether Postecoglou will still be in the dugout by the time they can enter negotiations.”
Tottenham in the lead for Vanderson
Manchester United and Manchester City are both mentioned as potentially interested parties for Vanderson, who is under contract at the Principality side until 2028, and he is also reported to be keen on a move to Barca.
And happily for Liverpool fans it appears the club are now set to allow other rivals battle it out for the highly-rated Vanderson.

“Spurs are not on course to be challenged by Liverpool for the 23-year-old as the newly-crowned champions have chosen to chase Bayer Leverkusen's Jeremie Frimpong despite discussing the possibility of landing the former Gremio man from Monaco following Trent Alexander-Arnold's decision to leave as a free agent instead of penning a new contract,” the report states.
